California can’t stop bleeding billionaires. The news is out—Travis Kalanick, one of the tech world’s superstar founders, has joined the mass exodus from the so-called Golden State. He packed his bags and left for Texas, just like so many before him. When will the left wake up? California’s high taxes and anti-business agenda are killing the dream of innovation.
The liberals running California are too busy dreaming up new ways to grab more money from successful Americans, instead of asking why everyone with brains and cash is heading for the door. The latest scheme—a “billionaire tax”—is pure socialist lunacy. They’re actually bragging about putting this disaster on the ballot. Liberals must really believe money grows on trees, or maybe they just think billionaires will stick around for the punishment.
But the truth is, smart people don’t like being robbed by greedy bureaucrats. Kalanick is just the latest to say, “Enough is enough.” Who can blame him? California politicians want to play Robin Hood, but they’re really just scaring away the engine that powers the American economy. The money, the jobs, the ideas—gone, just because progressives can’t keep their hands out of other people’s pockets.
Texas, meanwhile, is happy to welcome the liberty-minded and hardworking. Lower taxes, more freedom, less government interference—things liberals in California only pretend to care about while handing out welfare to illegal immigrants and pandering to globalist interests. It’s no wonder California’s losing not just individuals, but billions in potential.
How many more billionaires have to run for the exit before California’s leaders get it? Maybe that’s the point: Liberals don’t care about prosperity or American values. They only care about virtue signaling and driving our best and brightest out of the state. California is racing to the bottom, and the people who built it are leaving in droves. When will the left finally admit their “tax the rich” delusion is just destroying America from the inside out?
