Jimmy Kimmel just can’t help himself. Give the guy a microphone and a spotlight, and he turns into the poster child for everything that’s wrong with liberal Hollywood. Sunday’s Oscars was no exception. Instead of using the platform to celebrate movie-making, he used it as another excuse to take cheap shots at President Donald Trump. It’s almost like leftists don’t know how to do anything else.
Of course, Kimmel couldn’t even leave Melania Trump out of his childish skits. Attacking the former First Lady is apparently acceptable if you’re a late-night clown with zero originality. This is the same old tired routine — mock the Trump family, score applause from an audience of progressive elites, and then act shocked when most of Middle America tunes out.
But here’s where the hypocrisy runs deep. While Kimmel gleefully rips into conservatives, he whines about CBS canceling the walking snooze-fest that is Stephen Colbert’s show. These elitist hacks love to dish it out, but the moment accountability shows up for one of their own, suddenly it’s the end of the world. If Colbert’s anti-Trump rants were resonating with real Americans, maybe people other than D.C. lobbyists and New York hipsters would have bothered to watch.
This is liberal entertainment at its finest: endless circles of bitter, out-of-touch “comedians” acting like heroes for tearing down anyone who doesn’t worship at the altar of the left. They slap themselves on the back for their bravery, but God forbid someone holds a mirror up to their own failures. The left’s answer to bad ratings or failing shows? Play the victim, blame conservatives, never admit their own incompetence.
Nobody is surprised anymore when Hollywood types like Kimmel use big events as platforms for globalist, anti-American rhetoric. What’s surprising is that they still act shocked when Americans turn off the TV. Maybe if late-night hosts spent less time spewing their tired propaganda, and more time actually being funny, they wouldn’t have to cry about canceled shows. Is anyone else tired of Hollywood’s endless temper tantrums?
