California’s leaders love to talk about saving the planet. They slap on some climate slogans, throw money at pet projects, and pat themselves on the back for being “green.” But as this brutal heat wave bears down on California, melting what’s left of the precious mountain snowpack, the real-world results of all that posturing are plain to see. Less water. Less security. More suffering—especially for average Californians.
For years, politicians in Sacramento have refused to build new water storage. They’d rather blame climate change or invent new regulations than actually solve problems. This week, as the heat wave scorches the Golden State, all their lame excuses are evaporating faster than the dwindling Sierra snow. Simple truth: all the snow melting right now could have been captured and stored—if only California had built more reservoirs.
But no, that would require common sense and courage—two things in short supply among the left-wing elites who run this state. You don’t see them sweating power outages or water rationing in their air-conditioned mansions. Meanwhile, ordinary families watch as water bills spike and farmers are forced to plow under orchards that fed America. All so out-of-touch bureaucrats can chase their environmental dreams.
Here’s the kicker: California voters already approved billions for water storage years ago. Yet the politicians and their eco-activist pals slow-walked every project. They block dams, drag out permits, and tie up everything in endless reviews. As the state runs dry, they wring their hands and blame “global warming”—all while refusing to prepare for the hottest summers on record.
Where does this leave hard-working Californians? With empty promises, a dried-up future, and a government more interested in virtue-signaling than delivering results. When will the liberals in charge finally admit they failed? Or are they planning to import bottled water from China too?
