This is what communism delivers, every single time—misery, collapse, and darkness, both literal and figurative. While Americans enjoy the modern comforts capitalism brings, socialist Cuba stumbles from one disaster to the next, always crying “blockade” instead of holding their own failed system responsible.

If liberals want a sneak peek at the true cost of leftist policies, just look south. Cuba’s government, locked in its stubborn old ways, has driven the country off a cliff. The grid is so broken that the whole country can lose power at the flip of a switch. This isn’t just bad luck or some natural disaster. This is what happens when you let incompetent bureaucrats, filled with empty Marxist slogans, run your economy and energy sector.
