Once again, the liberals running New York are stumbling over their own bad ideas. Governor Kathy Hochul now wants to slam the brakes on her state’s so-called “climate change” law. Suddenly, after years of pushing impossible green targets, she’s admitting what conservatives have been saying all along—this radical agenda is a disaster for working families.
Everyone with a brain could see this coming. When you force companies to bow down to globalist climate rules, prices go through the roof. Companies pass those costs on to regular folks. Inflation climbs while families struggle to pay the bills. Hochul and her Democrat pals promised the world, but now they’re waving the white flag and begging for more time. It’s almost funny—if it wasn’t costing New Yorkers so much.
Liberals love to accuse anyone who questions their “green dreams” of being anti-science or in the pocket of big oil. But as soon as the costs hit their own voters, the mask slips. Hochul claims she needs a “longer runway,” as if this was ever about logic or reason in the first place. If they really cared about clean air, they’d trust American workers and American energy—NOT unelected global bureaucrats or phony “net zero” schemes.
This is liberal incompetence at its finest. First, set pie-in-the-sky goals that can’t be met. Then, shove the pain onto taxpayers. Finally, when reality knocks, pretend you’re making the “tough choices.” It’s a clown show, and hardworking Americans are the ones stuck cleaning up the mess. New Yorkers wanted greener pastures, but all they got was green bills and broken promises.
How many more wakeup calls do voters need before they toss these out-of-touch elites? Maybe it’s time to admit: if climate alarmists can’t even meet their own targets, maybe their whole agenda is just hot air.
