California liberals just got a gut punch, and free speech got a victory lap. For years, leftist bureaucrats in Sacramento have been trying to shut down gun culture, not with debate, but with a gag order. They figured if they could muzzle gun advertisements, they could quietly chip away at the Second Amendment by suffocating the First.
But here’s the delicious part: not only did California lose, and lose big, at the famously left-leaning Ninth Circuit, but now their political games are going to cost taxpayers over $1.3 million in legal fees. That’s money flushed down the drain, all because the state thought it could trample on constitutional rights and get away with it. They lost not once, but twice. Even their favorite activist judges couldn’t save their censorship scheme.
Only in California do liberals believe speech should be regulated if it offends their delicate, woke sensibilities. They bow to globalist trends where governments silence dissent, trying to treat American freedoms as optional. These elites want you to shut up, sit down, and obey, all while they pat themselves on the back for “saving lives.” But what they’re really saving is their own power.
Time and again, the left tells us they believe in democracy and rights—unless you dare disagree with them. Then, suddenly, it’s time for bans, blacklists, and backroom censorship deals. California didn’t just try to control guns; they tried to control the conversation. They lost because the Constitution doesn’t bend to feelings or fads.
A $1.38 million payout is just the price of their arrogance. Maybe it’s time California liberals read the Constitution before they legislate away the freedoms real Americans hold dear. If you can’t win the argument, why do you get to silence the other side? Seems like another lesson the left refuses to learn.
