Texas Democratic state Rep. James Talarico has proven once again just how far some on the left are willing to go to flaunt their twisted priorities. When asked a simple, wholesome question about what he loves besides friends and family, Talarico didn’t mention some admirable cause, or even his own state. No, he elevated so-called “trans kids” to the top of his list. That’s right — he wants the world to know that the group he’s most invested in, after his inner circle, is children being pushed down the path of irreversible medical intervention and confusion.
Let’s call this out for what it is: virtue signaling straight from the woke playbook. This isn’t about love. It’s about scoring political points and pandering to progressive elites and globalist activists. Instead of using his platform to defend real Texan family values, or to promote the health and safety of all children, Talarico put the spotlight on a radical, fringe movement that tries to normalize the practice of experimenting on confused minors.
The hypocrisy is rich. The same Democrats who claim to be champions for kids are the ones cheering as children get swept up in the latest identity craze, pushed by Hollywood, mega corporations, and powerful medical lobbies. Where is the love for kids being robbed of their innocence? Where’s the outrage over schools hiding life-altering secrets from parents? It doesn’t exist on the left, because it doesn’t fit their narrative.
Talarico’s response should concern every parent in Texas — and every American who doesn’t want our youth sacrificed on the altar of political correctness. The left keeps trying to paint conservatives as uncaring, but it’s conservatives who are standing up for kids’ right to grow up without influence from radical gender ideologies. Meanwhile, Democrats like Talarico act like the most “loving” thing to do is lead children into irreversible decisions before they’re even old enough to vote.
America’s future depends on politicians with real backbone, not virtue-obsessed liberals desperate for social media applause. If Talarico thinks his job is to put confused minors first, maybe it’s time Texas voters put the brakes on his political ambitions. Who else are the Democrats going to prioritize above families and communities next?
