Is there really any hope left for honest government in Washington? This week, Americans saw another perfect example of why Democrats and their enablers cannot be trusted with the safety of this nation. Senator Rand Paul, one of the few voices still willing to challenge the swamp, stepped up to expose the latest circus taking place in the Senate.
Markwayne Mullin, supposedly the next in line to run our Department of Homeland Security, admitted behind closed doors that he was part of some top-secret government mission about a decade ago. Funny how it’s always a “secret” when they don’t want Americans asking questions. What exactly did Mullin do back then—and more importantly, why won’t he come clean? Mullin’s not just hiding from reporters. He’s hiding from the American people. Yet the Biden administration and their allies want to rush him in anyway, no questions asked.
Let’s get real. Conservatives know what’s going on here. Liberals never want transparency when it comes to their friends and cronies. They tell you to trust the process, while the American people are locked out of the room. How many times do we have to hear about shadowy “classified” missions, corruption, or smoke-filled backroom deals, before someone finally stands up and demands answers?
Rand Paul gets it. He’s had enough of the games. He’s ready to pull the plug on yet another Biden nominee who acts like he’s above regular Americans. Since when did secret missions become a qualification for leading the very agency that’s supposed to protect our borders? Under this administration, “public service” really seems to mean “service to the elite.”
How long are Americans supposed to play dumb while our so-called leaders duck accountability? The left would rather protect their own than protect the country. You have to ask: if there’s nothing to hide, why are they always hiding? Maybe it’s time the Senate—and the entire federal government—started working for us again, not each other.
