It’s official. The squatter crisis in America has spiraled out of control. It’s so bad that now, even hospitals in Florida—yes, hospitals—are being forced to sue patients who simply refuse to leave after being discharged. Imagine working at a hospital, dedicating your time to saving lives, only to find yourself having to call lawyers to help you evict someone who just won’t get out of their hospital bed. That’s reality in today’s America, thanks to years of liberal policies that have coddled freeloaders and punished honest taxpayers.

We used to think squatters were just deadbeats who broke into empty homes. Now, we learn that some are turning hospital rooms into rent-free apartments, living at the expense of hardworking Americans while hospitals tie themselves in legal knots. The left likes to talk about compassion. But what about the patients waiting for beds, or the families stuck with outrageous healthcare costs because some entitled squatter decided to make the ER feel like home?

Let’s be honest—this sickness isn’t about a lack of housing or opportunity. It’s about a lack of accountability. For years, progressive lawmakers have made it nearly impossible for property owners—even hospitals!—to kick out squatters. Endless red tape, “tenant rights” gone amok, and judges terrified of looking “mean” have created a system where property rights are basically a punchline. Meanwhile, the liberal elite, the globalist class, and their big-money buddies don’t suffer from this mess. They live in private communities with security guards and gated fences. They don’t have to wait in hospital lobbies or worry about strangers claiming their houses or hospital rooms. Ordinary Americans get left to deal with burdens and bureaucratic nonsense up close and personal.

When did Americans get so soft on crime and so hostile to common sense? When hospitals start calling lawyers to remove squatters, you know the left’s experiment with so-called “social justice” has failed. The only thing getting “rehoused” is our trust in the system. How many more institutions have to break down before we say enough is enough?
