Gavin Newsom burns 114 million on butterfly bridge while Californians struggle to survive

California has become the world’s capital of liberal waste. The latest? Governor Gavin Newsom flushed $114 million down the drain for a so-called “butterfly bridge”—an animal overpass that’s gobbling up taxpayer cash while real Americans struggle just to get by.

This pet project, built above the 101 Freeway, was sold as a way to help wildlife cross ten lanes of traffic. Sounds cute—until you read the price tag. Taxpayers are on the hook for roughly $77 million, and now the project is running over a year late and more than $21 million over budget. So what’s the response from the woke elites steering the ship? Downplay the disaster, pass the blame, and point fingers at—wait for it—Donald Trump. You can’t make this stuff up.

Meanwhile, hardworking Californians live with sky-high grocery bills, soaring rents, and failing schools. But Newsom wants credit for building pricey animal highways? Pardon us if we’re not impressed. Only a liberal would tell voters it’s normal to waste tens of millions while basic infrastructure and public safety rot.

This isn’t just foolish leadership. It’s a slap in the face to every American family forced to stretch each paycheck while their so-called governor burns money to win globalist awards and court the Hollywood crowd. Of course, the left never holds itself accountable. Excuses about inflation and national politics are their go-to move. Never mind the fact that this project is a shrine to their own incompetence.

Of course, Newsom would love to run for President and spread this insanity nationwide. If he can’t manage a basic overpass without embarrassing overruns, what does he plan to do with a whole country’s budget? Expect more boondoggles, more finger-pointing, and a lot less common sense. At what point will Americans say, “Enough!”? Or are we all just butterflies now, crossing Newsom’s fantasy bridges while real America gets left behind?
