Once again, communist China is up to its old tricks—dangling promises and bribes in front of anyone it wants to control. This time, Beijing is trying a new hustle with Taiwan: offering so-called “energy independence” if they just hand themselves over to the Chinese regime. It’s laughable. The message from China is simple: “Give up your freedom, give up your future—just trust us to keep your lights on.” But anyone who’s watched China crush Hong Kong or silence its own people knows exactly how that deal turns out.
Let’s get real. Taiwan doesn’t need China’s energy. The island has traded smart, locking in deals with Qatar for natural gas and leaning on friends who actually believe in democracy—like the United States. Taiwan has made it clear: it doesn’t need Beijing’s “help.” The last thing Taiwan should do is listen to thuggish threats wrapped in promises. China wants control—plain and simple.
It’s amazing how elites on the Left still act surprised every time China pulls another stunt like this. How many times do we have to watch liberals and globalists play footsie with a regime that spies, steals, and silences? You’d think after all the lies out of Beijing, maybe the Biden administration and his weak-kneed friends would finally side with freedom. Instead, they lecture Americans about “stability” and “dialogue” while pretending the Communist Party will play nice one day.
Meanwhile, the real world knows better. Taiwan is strong, stubborn, and free because it doesn’t bend to bullies. They work with real allies, not tyrants. The American people should be proud to support them. The alternative is letting China buy its way into every corner of the globe, trading fake promises for real power.
So here’s the choice: Stand with our allies and stand up to communist games, or sell out our values for cheap energy. Who do you trust more—free people willing to fight for their future, or the iron-fisted Chinese regime? The answer should be as clear as daylight.
