The judge saw exactly who Fontenette was: a high-risk, repeat lawbreaker with no regard for rules or human life. Instead of buying into the failed “probation and hugs” narrative, the judge handed this criminal 25 years behind bars. And guess what? America is safer tonight because of it.

For years, families like this have been enabled by activist politicians more concerned about feelings than facts. If parents and communities won’t teach respect for the law, it’s time the courts did.
