Once again, the justice system has delivered a loud wake-up call. A federal judge in Florida just showed the entire country what happens when you game the system and rip off the American people. A Haitian-born man who wormed his way into U.S. citizenship while orchestrating a jaw-dropping $3.8 million COVID scam has been stripped of his status — and good riddance.
This is exactly the kind of tough action America needs more of. For too long, leftist politicians and their open-borders cronies have pretended that citizenship is some meaningless participation trophy. They’d rather hand out passports like candy than actually protect the value of being an American. That mindless, bleeding-heart approach invites cheats who see our nation as nothing more than a cash grab.
The details are infuriating. While millions of hard-working Americans followed the rules during the pandemic, this fraudster took advantage of emergency programs meant to help struggling families and businesses. He saw trillions in relief going out and decided to grab a giant slice for himself — all while faking his way through the naturalization process. This isn’t just some minor paperwork mistake. This is a direct, clear-cut crime against the very country he claimed to love.
Liberals shrug at this kind of crime, acting like it’s no big deal or dismissing any concern as “xenophobia.” That’s nonsense. American citizenship is not a right for every con artist who steps onto our soil. It’s a privilege. And it absolutely must be revocable for those who defraud our government and insult the very people who welcomed them in.
The Florida court sent a much-needed message: America isn’t your piggy bank, and citizenship must be earned — and kept — through honest loyalty. If only Washington had the backbone to protect our borders and demand integrity from all who call this country home. How much more are we willing to give away before we remember that citizenship actually means something?
