The Left loves to preach about “tolerance” and “diversity”—but apparently, those rules only apply when it’s convenient. The latest scandal swirling around Zohran Mamdani and his wife, Rama Duwaji, is a masterclass in liberal hypocrisy. For weeks, Duwaji’s social media history has been exposed for “liking” posts that glorify violence, spreading antisemitism, trafficking in racial slurs, and now using disgusting anti-gay language. If she were married to a Republican, Democrats and their media lapdogs would be hunting for heads. But since she’s married to one of their own, suddenly it’s crickets.
Would any Republican get away with this? Imagine if the spouse of a conservative used gay slurs online, celebrated the killing of Jews, or cozied up to extremists. The outcry would be deafening. Reporters would pound on every Republican’s door for comment. Leftist activists would organise protests. But when it’s a progressive darling like Mamdani, suddenly his wife is just a “private citizen.” Give me a break.
It gets worse: this isn’t just about one person’s ugly social media habits. Mamdani’s inner circle is loaded with figures who have a long track record of anti-gay and antisemitic views. His family smiles for photos with Ugandan politicians who wanted to jail gays for life, and his father pushed a lesbian professor out of a university job for being openly LGBTQ. His close religious advisor, an imam, has called homosexuality a “disease.” Yet Mamdani pretends these are just random encounters, as if his whole network isn’t drenched in intolerance.
And what does Mamdani offer New Yorkers? A hard push for taxpayer-funded “gender-affirming care”—a policy so extreme even some gay activists are comparing it to the horror shows you’d see in Iran, where authorities try to “erase” homosexuality through forced medical interventions. The very same circles that preach “pride” and “acceptance” are promoting the most radical and dangerous ideas about sex and gender—while turning a blind eye to their own friends’ deep-seated prejudice.
Liberals love rules. Rules for their enemies, anyway. If a conservative’s spouse so much as sneezes wrong, they demand resignations and public shaming. When it’s one of their own, they expect everyone to just look the other way. Sorry, but those days are over. If Democrats can’t live up to their own standards, maybe those standards were never real to begin with—just tools for grabbing more power and silencing anyone who disagrees. How much longer are Americans going to put up with this sham?
