California’s woke leaders think they’ve just come up with another scheme to “right the wrongs of history.” The latest? Giving away over 7 million acres of valuable coastal land to native tribes. While the left cheers and pats itself on the back, everyday Californians are left scratching their heads. The only land that seems off-limits? The beaches and mansions owned by the state’s rich, famous elites.
Let’s say what nobody else will: Does anyone really think Hollywood’s darlings—people like Billie Eilish with her $14 million oceanfront palace—are losing one wink of sleep over this so-called “reparations” effort? Of course not. When liberals talk about “land back,” they never mean their own precious property. It’s regular folks and taxpayers who take the fall, while celebrity activists sip cocktails by the beach.
The hypocrisy burns hotter than California’s wildfires. Leftist politicians just love to virtue-signal about stolen land and indigenous justice, but draw the line the second it threatens the lifestyles of their celebrity supporters. The rich and powerful dodge the consequences while everyday citizens watch their state get carved up and handed out—just to let Democrats score more “woke” points.
The globalist crowd running California isn’t fooling anyone. They pretend to care about history while making sure their donors and big-name backers keep their mansions. Where is the fairness, liberals? If “land back” is the goal, why not start with the gigantic estates of those who preach loudest about privilege? Don’t hold your breath waiting for justice in Beverly Hills.
This is what modern progressivism looks like—rules for thee, not for me. California can give away millions of acres, but the fortress homes of Hollywood’s chosen are off-limits. Maybe the left should take a hard look in the mirror and try “reparations” on their own front lawns. Or is the real plan just to keep fooling voters while the elite keep living large?
