America doesn’t need another government boondoggle messing up our future. But, every now and then, common sense pokes its way through the bureaucratic fog. That’s what’s happening with the recent push to revive nuclear energy—but this time, by recycling nuclear waste and actually using it for good. Imagine that: we take what liberals have spent decades treating like a deadly curse, and turn it into a power goldmine. It’s about time.
The big brains in Washington used to think the answer was burying nuclear waste underground forever, hiding it away like some kind of national embarrassment. That’s the tired old playbook of radical environmentalists—scream “danger!” and shut down the stuff that actually works. But now, states across the country are stepping up, signing on to plans that make sense. They’re joining forces to recycle nuclear waste and build new reactors that squeeze even more energy out of what we already have.
Let’s not forget, the only reason this wasn’t happening earlier is because the climate lobby and their pals in Big Government wouldn’t allow it. These so-called “green” activists sabotaged nuclear energy for years, all while worshiping the unreliable altars of windmills and solar panels made in China. Meanwhile, American families paid through the nose for electricity while listening to lectures about “sustainability.” The hypocrisy is stunning.
Now we finally see policies that actually put America first. When nuclear fuel is recycled, we get more energy out of the same material and slash the waste piling up at reactor sites. No more doom and gloom about radioactive mountains growing bigger each year. And we don’t have to trust some far-off federal storage project that never gets finished, costing the taxpayer billions. Instead, states are taking the lead—getting the job done where Washington fails, once again.
Maybe, just maybe, it’s time for liberals to admit their precious “renewables-only” fantasy was always doomed. Nuclear power is American power: clean, reliable, and now even more efficient with smart innovation. The real question is, will the left finally stop standing in the way, or will they cling to their outdated dogma while America charges into the future? The choice is obvious, but with liberals, who knows?
