Democrats launch magical misery tour for 2028 as elites battle to out-suffer real Americans

The Democrats are already plotting their big show for 2028, and it looks like America should brace for a front-row seat to the “Magical Misery Tour.” Gone are the days when left-wing politicians tried to campaign on hope or even fake smiles. Now, their tactic seems to be one big therapy session for the entire nation, dredging up old family secrets, childhood drama, and every scrap of personal dysfunction they can dig out. Their plan? Apparently, it’s to make everyone miserable together.

It would almost be impressive if it weren’t so pathetic. You’d think “sharing your pain” would be a tough sell for the pampered set gearing up to run. Look at the list: Gavin Newsom, J.B. Pritzker, and Josh Shapiro. These guys didn’t grow up fighting for scraps. Pritzker and Newsom were born dripping in privilege and connections. Even Shapiro, who tries to play the “relatable card,” grew up the son of a doctor and a teacher, hardly struggling by any American definition. Now they want to paint themselves as wounded souls who understand the average citizen’s pain. What a twist.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the ring, Republicans have Vice President Vance—a man who actually clawed his way from dirt-poor Appalachia. Or take Secretary of State Marco Rubio, whose family fled real Communist tyranny in Cuba. These men faced real adversity—not luxury, not cocktail parties with politicians. When the campaign trails start heating up, it won’t be the Democrat “trauma diaries” that resonate with voters. It’ll be leaders who actually went through tough times, beat the odds, and didn’t sit around whining about their parents.

Here’s the sick punchline: Democrats want us to believe their therapy hour is some grand gesture of empathy. But it reeks of the same leftist psychodrama that says victimhood equals virtue. These politicians don’t want to fix hardship—they want to wallow in it and drag the rest of America down with them. It’s a civilizational sickness. Misery is contagious, and Democrats seem determined to spread it coast to coast.

Voters need to ask themselves: Do they want to keep handing the reins to people whose biggest struggle was picking which vacation house to spend summer in? Or is it time to choose leaders who know what hardship really is, who actually love this country, and who are ready to make America strong—not sad—all over again? The left’s new pity party is embarrassing. The only thing more shocking would be if regular Americans actually buy it.
