Air tragedy exposes deadly cost of woke hiring at US airports

Another tragedy unfolds on American soil, and once again, common sense is left on the runway. This time, it’s at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, where two pilots lost their lives in a fiery crash that simply didn’t have to happen. An Air Canada Express jet smashed right into a fire truck. The worst part? Early recordings already suggest the air traffic controller behind it all admitted to messing up. This isn’t just a bad mistake—it’s liberal incompetence at work.

How many times are regular Americans supposed to put their trust in a system that constantly fails them? These kinds of disasters aren’t random. They’re the direct result of careless leadership and broken priorities. Over and over, airports become playgrounds for big government bureaucracy. Safety takes a back seat while officials push diversity quotas and woke agendas instead of actual merit and accountability. When the focus is on virtue signaling instead of keeping people alive, tragedy is sure to follow.

We used to hold our air traffic controllers—and anyone running critical infrastructure—to the highest standard. That standard is gone, replaced with a culture of shifting blame and endless apologies. Is anyone really surprised that errors are skyrocketing? The left loves to pat themselves on the back for “investing in safety,” but the real investment seems to be endless red tape and buzzwords. The only thing crashing harder than that jet is the public’s waning trust in these so-called experts they’ve stuffed into the control towers.

Let’s be clear: a fire truck should never be on an active runway when a plane is barreling down to land. But this is what you get when government jobs become a safe space for political correctness instead of raw competence. It’s time to start asking the tough questions about who’s actually qualified to be in these positions, instead of just checking the right boxes to make the bureaucrats happy.

Patriotism means protecting our own: our pilots, our passengers, our neighbors. Americans deserve better than to die at the hands of avoidable incompetence while bureaucrats wring their hands and offer hollow apologies. When will enough be enough? Maybe New York’s next mayor should try hiring for skill—not just for headlines.
