San Francisco just can’t help itself. Now the city has cooked up a so-called “Reparations Plan” that’s supposed to right past wrongs. Mayor Daniel Lurie proudly signed off on it last year. But just because politicians feel good about themselves doesn’t mean they get to ignore the Constitution.
Here’s the truth: this scheme is a legal disaster. It’s built on the hollow idea that government can hand out bundles of cash just because someone’s ancestors faced discrimination. If that’s the yardstick, when does the madness end? Should every group with a history of injustice get trillions in taxpayer money? Liberals seem to think America is just a bottomless ATM.
Let’s be clear. America has laws for a reason. The Constitution protects every citizen, no matter their skin color or their family tree. You can’t fix old injustices by violating the very rights that make this country great. Yet the city’s leaders, blinded by woke ideology, are doing exactly that—picking winners and losers based on race. It’s not just unfair; it’s downright un-American.
The hypocrisy is hard to stomach. The same crowd that screams about “equity” is happy to trample it when it suits their agenda. They love to talk about unity, but these divisive government handouts rip the country apart. Instead of building a future where we’re judged by our character, the left wants to lock everyone into permanent victimhood, all for their own political power.
If San Francisco’s liberal elite think the rules don’t apply to them, they’re in for a rude awakening. Courts exist to shut this nonsense down. Good intentions don’t excuse unconstitutional schemes—period. The great question now is this: Will Americans stand up for fairness, or watch another Democrat city throw the law out the window for the sake of woke points?
