The Senate just handed the keys of our nation’s Homeland Security to Markwayne Mullin, confirming him 54-45 in yet another display of party line politics. Once again, Americans get an answer to the question: do Democrats even care about America’s borders? Spoiler alert—most of them don’t. Sure, two Democrats defected, voting with the Republicans, but what does it say when the rest were perfectly happy to rubber-stamp another questionable pick for one of the most powerful security jobs in the world?
Let’s not sugarcoat it. The Department of Homeland Security has been an absolute disaster under liberal control. Our border is wide open, fentanyl is killing American kids, and cartels are laughing all the way to the bank. Instead of fighting for secure borders and American safety, left-wing politicians trip over themselves to let more chaos pour over. Now, they expect us to trust that simply swapping the person in charge—without changing the playbook—will work?
The confirmation of Mullin is just more proof the establishment cares more about optics and globalist agendas than protecting real Americans. These politicians sit safely in D.C. while families out in the heartland suffer the consequences of their failures. They talk a good game about “security” but every action shows they’re more interested in appeasing radical activists and foreign interests than people in Kansas or Texas.
Ask anyone who lives near the southern border: things have never felt worse. Liberals in Congress keep pretending there’s no crisis—even as record numbers of illegal crossings, drugs, and criminals make the news nightly. But instead of real solutions, they double down and push forward with officials who’ll keep the chaos going. Apparently, the safety of American citizens is just an afterthought for the ruling party.
So here we go again. Another “yes man” installed, another round of empty promises from the elites. When will Washington put America first? Maybe the better question is, do they even remember how?
