For years, liberal elites have loved to lecture Americans about how we should cozy up to communist Cuba. Hollywood swoons over Che t-shirts while urban hipsters sip overpriced mojitos at “authentic” Cuban bars. But suddenly, the mask slips. The truth? It’s all about cold, hard cash—for the globalists, not the Cuban people.
Now, as Havana’s corrupt communist regime teeters on the edge of collapse, foreign investors are trembling. Canadian companies, flush with sweetheart deals, are terrified they’ll lose their billions if Cuba gets its freedom. So what do they do? Their diplomats have the nerve to ask Western nations to prop up the very regime that’s starved, silenced, and imprisoned its own people for decades.
This isn’t some fight about “stability” or “values.” It’s about protecting profits. The Canadian government and their corporate pals care more about bank accounts than basic human rights. When communism fits their business model, they’ll fight like hell to keep it alive—even if it means turning a blind eye to the misery on Cuba’s streets.
Liberals love to talk about “empowering the oppressed,” but when push comes to shove, their buddies in big business would rather partner with dictators than see people rise up for freedom. This is what “progressivism” looks like: putting profits ahead of real people, hiding greed behind phony compassion, and backing tyrants when it serves their own interests.
If Cuban communism finally falls, it won’t be because of help from elites in Canada or the global left. It’ll be because Cubans themselves have had enough. Meanwhile, the world is watching—will North America stand with freedom, or clutch its cash and pray the communists keep control? When liberals have to choose between liberty and their wallets, everyone knows what wins.
