America’s education bureaucracy has decided it’s time to let us peek behind the curtain and see just how much foreign cash is flooding into our so-called “institutions of higher learning.” For far too long, colleges and universities have treated their foreign sugar daddies like a dirty secret. Now, with a new portal for tracking foreign funding, maybe—just maybe—everyday Americans will see who’s really pulling the strings on campuses.
Everyone knows universities love to lecture the rest of us about “democracy,” “fairness,” and “social justice.” Yet these same ivory tower elites have had no issue collecting billions from foreign regimes, including our adversaries. Communist China, oil-rich Middle Eastern kingdoms, and other globalist powers have been writing big checks to American colleges for years. What did they get in return? Cozy research deals, access to students, and a front-row seat to the soul of America’s future.
Why did it take this long to admit the problem? Simple. Liberal administrators and their Democratic allies want to have it both ways—pretend to care about transparency while pocketing foreign money behind closed doors. It’s all part of their “America Last” strategy. As long as the money flows, who cares if our national security or our children’s values are being sold out?
Now, under political pressure, the Department of Education is finally making a limited nod towards accountability. They claim they want to be more transparent. That’s rich—after decades of hiding behind excuses, only now do they realize they have a “moral and legal obligation” to tell taxpayers the truth. Who’s kidding whom? If conservatives hadn’t forced their hand, the left would still be sweeping these dirty deals under the rug.
This new portal is just a start, and nobody should act like it’s the full solution. The American people have every right to know which colleges are dining at the globalist trough. Real patriots should be asking—how much foreign money will it take before liberals admit they’ve sold their souls to the highest bidder?
