America Stands Tall When We Demand It
America has a new hero back home—but not thanks to empty promises or limp-wristed globalist handwringing. Dennis Coyle, an American scholar held hostage by the Taliban for over a year, is finally free. For too long, spineless diplomats and their woke buddies on the left have tiptoed around terrorist regimes, hoping that polite notes and hashtag campaigns would get the job done. That didn’t bring Coyle home. Strength did.
It’s not complicated: bullies understand force, not feelings. When President Trump made clear that America would no longer play nice with hostage-takers, the message landed like a sledgehammer. The old days of Obama-era appeasement, when American citizens were left to rot in foreign jails, are over. The Trump administration pushed hard, called out Afghanistan as a rogue state, and slammed the door on soft diplomacy. Coyle’s family knew it, too—they could finally trust their government to get serious.
Naturally, the usual D.C. obstructionists dragged their feet, chirping about “diplomacy” while real Americans suffered. Meanwhile, bold leaders in Congress didn’t sit quietly, but demanded action. They called out the Taliban’s cowardly tactics and made it clear: the United States will always come for its own. Our enemies weren’t happy, but frankly, they shouldn’t be. When America acts with muscle—when America leads—the world has no choice but to follow.
Some in the establishment tried to spin this as just another international holiday “gesture.” Wrong. This was a test of American will, plain and simple. All the Qatar mediators and diplomatic whispers wouldn’t have changed a thing without clear, unflinching leverage from Washington. Only by putting America First did we get results. Only by making hostage-taking a losing bet did the Taliban blink.
Liberals love to wring their hands about foreign policy, crying about “reputation” and “engagement.” But when our citizens are on the line, do we want to be liked—or do we want to win? The answer is obvious to any real patriot watching Dennis Coyle step off that plane. Maybe, just maybe, the world is remembering what happens when America says enough is enough. Want to see peace? Try strength. Want to see Americans come home? Elect a leader who actually means it.
