An American student is dead, and once again, Democrats have blood on their hands. Sheridan Gorman was just 18, starting her life at Loyola University in Chicago, when a Venezuelan national—who never should have set foot in this country—gunned her down in cold blood. The man accused of her murder, Jose Medina-Medina, waltzed across our border thanks to Biden’s failed open-door immigration policies, got released, and spent years roaming our streets. Now he’s facing murder charges, but get this—he couldn’t even show up for his court hearing, because he’s laid up in a Chicago hospital with active tuberculosis.
Let’s break this down. This is what “border security” looks like under the Democrats: a killer with a highly contagious disease was let loose onto American streets, could have infected who knows how many innocent people, and taxpayers are picking up the tab for his medical bills. TB isn’t some harmless virus. It’s serious, it spreads fast, and treatment takes weeks, sometimes months. Liberals spent the last few years bullying Americans into masks, shaming anyone who resisted endless mandates, and demanding forced vaccines. Yet now they shrug their shoulders as thousands of unvetted migrants pour over the border, many bringing dangerous diseases with them.
But the left doesn’t care. They wag their fingers, lecturing Americans about public health and safety—with their private security guards and their selective outrage—while ignoring a literal criminal invasion at our southern border. Maybe they’re hoping these new arrivals will repay them at the ballot box, or maybe they’re just so obsessed with globalist virtue signaling that they don’t care how many Americans suffer. Isn’t it strange how they cry about mask mandates on Americans, but are totally silent about real, deadly diseases crossing into our neighborhoods?
And for what? To satisfy some twisted sense of compassion, or to keep cheap labor flowing for their big corporate donors? It sure can’t be about keeping Americans safe. In this tragic case, Gorman lost her life in a city wracked by violence, and her killer might have exposed countless others to TB before anyone even realized he was infected. Now the headline isn’t just about another innocent American murdered by someone who never should’ve been here—it’s a potential public health crisis, courtesy of Democrat priorities.
How many more children have to die? How many more times do Americans need to be put at risk before someone in power admits the obvious: secure borders save lives. President Trump proved it—illegal crossings all but stopped when he was calling the shots. Democrats don’t need more laws, they need a backbone and a little common sense. But based on their record, that’s never going to happen. So every parent who loses a child, every innocent person exposed to diseases we wiped out decades ago, can thank the left’s open borders insanity for destroying the America we love.
