It’s happening again in New York City: faith under fire, and the so-called progressive leaders cheering it on. The City Council sits back while radicals pretend protest means trampling on the rights of people to worship in peace. Welcome to the upside-down world of left-wing politics, where every fringe activist gets a pass—unless, of course, they’re just trying to worship God.
These protests at houses of worship aren’t about justice, free speech, or even genuine dissent. It’s about intimidation, plain and simple. The left loves to scream about tolerance, but when it comes to Christians or Jews wanting to worship, suddenly “tolerance” takes the day off. The right to worship gets tossed aside, replaced with angry mobs and hateful signs outside synagogues, churches, and mosques. Where are the city leaders? Hiding behind their woke slogans, afraid to stand up for the values that built America.
New Yorkers should be furious. The right to worship is fundamental. It’s older than the City Council, older than any protest group, and older than the empty platitudes the left dishes out every election season. But liberals seem to forget that basic truth. Instead, they let anti-religious mobs block doorways, shout down worshippers, and poison neighborhoods with fear. Why? Because their brand of “unity” only covers the causes in their favor. Faith—especially traditional faith—just isn’t woke enough for their liking.
Don’t forget, these same politicians talk endlessly about inclusion and diversity. But when it’s time to protect everyday people just wanting to say their prayers, they run for the hills. Selective outrage, double standards, and a refusal to defend the most basic American rights—that’s the liberal record on religion.
This city, and this country, deserve better. People of faith shouldn’t have to rely on luck or police tape to worship in peace. It’s time for the City Council to get off their knees to the activist minority and stand up for religious freedom. If New York can’t protect the believers in its own neighborhoods, what hope is there for the rest of America? Maybe it’s time these so-called leaders remembered the values that made this city great—or admit their true agenda. Which side are they on: faith, or fear and hate?
