Forget about real education—this month, colleges across the island are becoming training camps, forcing students to march, salute, and brainwash themselves with “patriotic” and “anti-imperialist” propaganda. Instead of math and science, Cuba wants its students practicing military drills and playing pretend revolution. All to keep the dying dream of socialism on life support.
This is what leftists call “progress.” A failed regime making kids play soldier so they don’t ask questions or demand a future outside government control. Leftist elites everywhere love boasting about “free” education in places like Cuba, but they never mention the cost—obedience, silence, and acceptance of their authority. Free speech? Only if you pledge your allegiance to Castro’s ghost.
American colleges aren’t so different these days, either. Too many professors in the U.S. already bully students who dare to think for themselves. Cancel culture? It’s just speech-policing by a different name, imported straight from socialist playbooks like Cuba’s. The left screams “diversity” while turning American classrooms into echo chambers of groupthink and fear.
It’s laughable how globalists and their media friends celebrate Cuba’s “culture” and “resistance,” while real Cuban youths are pushed around by government thugs. Where is the outrage from self-proclaimed human rights champions? Nowhere to be seen; they’re too busy fawning over socialism to notice real suffering under their noses. Hypocrisy, plain and simple.
This latest stunt isn’t about “defending socialism.” It’s about scaring a new generation into submission. The question is, how long before the American left tries something this nasty on our own college campuses? If conservatives don’t fight back, we all know the answer.
