Democrat Congresswoman accused of pocketing millions in disaster relief while party stays silent

Once again, Democrats are proving their own rules don’t apply when one of their own gets caught. Just look at what’s happening with Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick from Florida. This so-called “champion of the people” is facing explosive accusations that she took $5 million in disaster relief meant for Americans who lost everything. Instead of returning the money meant to rebuild lives, the congresswoman allegedly poured that cash into her campaign coffers—and handed out what’s left to friends and family.

The silence from the left is deafening. Remember when Republicans tried to hold their own accountable? Democrats lined up by the hundreds to kick George Santos out of Congress for alleged misuse of campaign cash. But now that one of their own is accused of something even worse, suddenly there’s not a peep from the party of “transparency.” So much for the Democrats’ supposed moral compass.

What’s worse: these aren’t just campaign violations. This is FEMA money—taxpayer dollars meant for people whose homes were flattened, their lives upended by disaster. While American families were scraping by after hurricanes and floods, a Democrat congresswoman is accused of stuffing her own pockets. But where’s the woke outrage now? Oh, right, it only comes out when a Republican is involved.

The party leadership isn’t rushing for answers. Top Democrats are already making excuses, dragging their feet, and whining about needing “more time” to prepare her legal defense. Funny—there wasn’t any patience or mercy for Santos. It sounds like the Democrat party just wants to protect their own, no matter how much they betray the American people.

This is exactly why voters are sick and tired of double standards in Washington. Democrats talk a big game about “accountability”—until it’s time to look in the mirror. If breaking the law is grounds for expulsion when you’re a Republican, shouldn’t the same rule apply to a Democrat accused of stealing millions in disaster relief? Or do the elites on the left think they’re above the law?
