Once again, the federal government proves that when it comes to protecting American communities, the left’s bureaucrats only get moving when a judge forces their hand. FEMA, that bloated agency stuffed with career pencil-pushers, spent over a year sitting on their hands, keeping a major resilience grant program locked away while folks across the country suffered. Americans who desperately needed help rebuilding and protecting their towns had to wait for the heavy gavel of a federal court to remind D.C. that their actual job is to serve the citizens of this nation—not to stall, cancel, and stonewall at every turn.
Why was this critical grant canceled in the first place? No clear answers, just the usual dancing around responsibility. Perhaps the Biden administration didn’t see much political gain in helping the backbone of America: hard-working rural families and small towns that always seem to get the short end of the stick from big government. It sure seemed convenient to cancel vital resilience funding while pushing billions towards trendy green schemes, Eastern European conflicts, and a never-ending stream of questionable “equity” projects.
This is what happens when globalist priorities take center stage over real American needs. Washington liberals love to talk about equity and climate change while ignoring the basics—safe homes, sturdy infrastructure, and resilience after disaster. It takes a judge, not a conscience, to make these bureaucrats act. The left will cry about “helping the vulnerable,” yet it’s their arrogance and incompetence putting American lives and towns at risk in the first place.
Only after the court order did FEMA reluctantly open the program’s applications—proving, yet again, that the only way to get results from the federal government is to drag them kicking and screaming to do the bare minimum. Does anyone honestly believe these agencies care about flyover country, or are they only interested in chasing headlines, pushing their own pet projects, and playing politics with people’s futures?
Americans deserve better than this. They deserve leaders who don’t have to be sued to do their jobs. If the Biden administration truly believed in service, it wouldn’t take a federal court just to resume help for struggling communities. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time for a government that puts Americans first instead of treating them like a footnote. When will our leaders finally realize: it’s the American people who should matter most—not the bureaucrats or their globalist pals in D.C.?
