Democrats abandon Iranian Americans to score woke points while ignoring real tyranny

Democrats keep telling us they stand up for minority communities—but when was the last time they actually did? Just look at what’s happening to Iranian Americans in New York City. Instead of using his power to defend people running from the terror in Iran, Zohran Mamdani, a so-called representative of the people, is busy attacking the only countries that have the guts to take on the Iranian regime. Mamdani and his party don’t seem interested in calling out the real source of evil. They would rather blame the good guys, all for the sake of looking “woke” for their globalist friends.

Iran is a dangerous regime. This isn’t some right-wing talking point—it’s fact. The regime crushes free speech, jails protesters, and rules its people with fear. Iranian Americans know exactly what that tyranny looks like. You’d think their local Democrats would stand up for them and fight back against Iran’s leaders. But instead, politicians like Mamdani are spending all their energy blasting Israel and the United States—the two countries actually standing up to Iran. What happened to defending human rights? Or do Democrats only care about human rights when it suits their agenda?

This should outrage every American who cares about freedom. The Democrats’ refusal to call out Iran shows just how broken their priorities are. All their talk about “protecting vulnerable communities” is just empty noise. When Iranian Americans need a champion, progressives are silent—or worse, actively undermining the fight against terrorism. Why? Because it’s more fashionable on the left to bash America and Israel than to stand up against a terrorist dictatorship. This is what happens when politics is about virtue signaling, not real values.

Here’s a reality check: supporting Israel and America isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s the only thing stopping Iran’s rulers from spreading their evil even further. But the left would rather score points with their radical base than actually keep Americans—and Iranian Americans—safe. It’s all about appearances and pandering to the loudest voices, even if that means betraying the very people they claim to defend.

Maybe it’s time for these so-called progressives to step aside and let real leaders step in. Or maybe the voters of New York—especially those who know what real oppression looks like—should remind Democrats like Mamdani what their job actually is. After all, if you can’t speak out against true evil, what good are you in office anyway?
