Trump Outsmarts Democrats on the DHS Shutdown—Again
The Democrats just don’t get it. They tried to play hardball with the Department of Homeland Security shutdown, hoping to hold the nation hostage and blame President Trump. But—ready for the surprise?—Trump flipped the script. He swooped in with an executive order that kept TSA agents paid, even in the middle of their little temper tantrum. The money was already set aside thanks to last year’s tax cuts. Democrats thought airports would grind to a halt and Americans would turn on Trump. Instead, travelers breezed through security thanks to ICE stepping up, and the only ones looking irresponsible were Democrat lawmakers.
Let’s not kid ourselves about who started this mess. Democrats stalled, twisted, and spun the story, doing everything possible to block border security priorities. They whined about shutdown pain while ignoring the yawning threats at the border and the risk of terrorist retaliation. Even the usually anti-Trump media couldn’t spin away the ugly truth: the left’s stubbornness was putting everyday Americans at risk. Sick and tired of weak Republican hand-wringing? So are we. Too many gutless GOP leaders acted like the Democrats deserved respect for this display of childishness. They didn’t.
It’s obvious who’s really hurting workers and American families. Democrats would rather freeze payment to DHS and make life miserable at the airport than see one more illegal alien deported. That tells you everything. Their globalist priorities couldn’t be clearer. Instead of defending the law or protecting citizens, they’d rather score points with their radical base and virtue signal on national TV.
No more wasting time. It was past time to bulldoze the nonsense and get decisive. Nuclear option on the table—get rid of the legislative filibuster, and pass real security measures. Split the bills if needed and ram through funding for ICE and enforcement. This isn’t just party politics—this is about the safety and sanity of the country.
Democrats gambled, and Trump left them stunned—like deer in headlights. Maybe they need a refresher that our government exists to serve Americans, not to coddle illegal immigrants or cater to the woke mob. Why should the rest of us pay the price for liberal grandstanding? Let’s stop pretending they’re the adults in the room. By now, who hasn’t seen through their games?
