Democrats in Illinois are putting illegal aliens above American families, and no one feels that betrayal more than the heartbroken parents mourning their children. An 18-year-old college freshman, Sheridan Gorman, is now dead—murdered on Chicago’s lakefront by an illegal immigrant. And yet, what do we really see from the left? Cold indifference, phony empathy, and endless excuses.
At a recent Senate hearing, Sheridan’s devastated father stood face-to-face with Senator Dick Durbin—the guy who’s supposed to protect the people of Illinois. Instead, this so-called leader has chosen woke politics over public safety time and time again. When families lose a child because Democrats refuse to enforce our laws, there’s only one word for it: failure.
But the rot goes deeper. Look at Governor JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson. They twist themselves into knots to defend lawbreakers, tiptoeing around the real issue. It seems easier for them to hand out feel-good press releases or blame anyone but themselves than to show basic compassion for American victims. Don’t forget Alderwoman Maria Hadden, whose cold, dismissive attitude is becoming all too common among progressives drunk on power.
People are angry—and they should be. Sanctuary policies didn’t just let Sheridan’s killer in, they keep dangerous criminals on the streets. Open borders and globalist dreams come with a body count, but the Democrat machine doesn’t seem to care until it’s their own family in the headlines. Where is the outrage among liberal leaders when Americans pay the price for their radical agenda?
This isn’t just about one tragic death. It’s about a broken system and politicians more worried about virtue signals than protecting our children. The question every American should be asking: How many more need to die before Democrats finally choose the safety of their own people over the politics of open borders?
