It’s always the same story in Washington: politicians grandstand about border security while turning their backs on the people who actually make America safe. This week, the Senate proved once again that they’d rather play games than pay the real heroes who keep the Department of Homeland Security running. Tom Homan—America’s toughest border czar—called them out, and he’s exactly right. Our ICE and Border Patrol support staff are staring down empty bank accounts, thanks to a bunch of pious, out-of-touch lawmakers obsessed with politics over patriotism.
You won’t hear this from the corporate media, but the so-called “funding bill” pushed by Senate leadership does almost nothing for the backbone of our border enforcement. They somehow managed to exclude the administrative workers—those hard-working individuals who keep the lights on, the trucks fueled, and the bills paid. Without them, the entire immigration enforcement system grinds to a halt. Maybe that’s exactly what the Left wants.
It’s no secret the radical Democrats are more interested in giving handouts to illegal aliens than supporting men and women putting their lives on the line. This isn’t just about ignoring ICE agents; it’s about telling every American who believes in law and order that their government doesn’t have their back. These forgotten employees are being used as pawns while the Senate jet-sets off to another vacation, leaving paychecks hanging in the balance for weeks—maybe even months.
House Republicans are the only ones stepping up to fight for these heroes, calling for real support and even demanding strong amendments like key elements from the SAVE America Act. But as usual, liberal senators drag their feet, refusing to fix the mess they helped create. All while DHS workers—fresh from suffering through the last record-breaking government shutdown—are once again left out in the cold.
Let’s call this what it is: a cowardly display by America’s so-called leaders. The Left loves to shed crocodile tears for border crossers and airport chaos, but when hardworking citizens need help, they shrug and head off to recess. Is this the America we want—one where the people who enforce our laws are sacrificed on the altar of open borders and globalist dreams? America deserves better, and it’s about time we demand it.
