Today marks Vietnam Veterans Day—a date half of America either doesn’t know or, worse, refuses to care about. It’s a shameful stain on our country that the heroes who fought and bled to stop the spread of communism got spit on, sneered at, and left to fend for themselves when they returned home. Only in a country led by weak-kneed politicians and self-hating elites could the men who stared down communist butchers be treated like criminals instead of champions.
The Vietnam War was more than just a conflict—it was a battle for freedom, fought on the other side of the globe, while globalist politicians back home played games with American lives. While our troops slogged through the jungles, risking everything to stand up against the iron fist of communism, anti-American radicals protested in the streets, burning flags and calling our soldiers “baby killers.” The liberal media cheered them on, spreading lies and ignoring the massacres committed by our enemies. It was a disgrace then, and it’s a disgrace now.
Even today, the so-called progressives and Ivy League experts pretend like the Vietnam War never happened—or worse, they focus on the so-called mistakes America made, instead of the courage on display. They talk about “healing” and “moving on,” as if ignoring the sacrifice will make the left’s shameful betrayal of these veterans go away. How many of those cocktail party intellectuals would survive ten minutes in a Vietnamese rice paddy, let alone under communist rule?
Vietnam veterans never got the parades or honor they deserved. Instead, they got ignored and blamed for a war launched by politicians who cared more about saving face than saving lives. The very same left-wing voices who harrassed and heckled these men are now busy rewriting history, pushing anti-American lies into our children’s classrooms. Our veterans sacrificed everything, only to come home to a country that let them down.
Americans owe it to these heroes to remember what matters: freedom is not free, and the American soldier is the backbone of this nation. If we don’t stand up for those who risked everything to fight real evil, what kind of country are we becoming? Maybe it’s time to ask the left—do they even believe in honoring real sacrifice, or do they just like to virtue signal until the next anti-American crusade comes along?
