Democrats have been fighting to kill school choice for decades, working hard to shut the door on kids who want something better. In Wisconsin, for example, liberals are using their activist courts to try to erase school choice altogether—like they can’t stand it when regular Americans have options.
But the real kicker? It’s not just their policies—it’s their dangerous mindset. Today’s liberals preach “empathy,” but it’s really about guilting good parents into keeping their children trapped in failing, government-run schools. The message is clear: don’t lift your kid up, keep them in the system for “the community.” Sacrifice their future and dreams on the altar of liberal collectivism.
Modern public schools can’t even get the basics right. Literacy and math scores are in the gutter. In cities like Chicago, teachers spend more time marching for their left-wing causes than actually teaching. Meanwhile, when COVID hit, public schools locked down for years, leaving kids isolated and behind. Where was the “community” then? While liberal elites send their own kids to the best private schools, ordinary Americans are told to settle for less. The hypocrisy is staggering.
Liberal propaganda claims public schools are good for “social development” and will teach our children to “embrace diversity.” But why is sending your kid to a private school suddenly a sin? Why do liberals insist we keep our kids down, instead of striving for something better? In reality, private schools offer plenty of interaction, often with real diversity and for less money in the long run. The difference? Private schools don’t push radical leftist agendas and don’t answer to government overlords.
It all comes down to priorities. Parents want their kids to succeed. That’s natural. But the left would rather guilt you into keeping your child stuck in broken schools than admit their government system is a failure. And don’t forget, these same liberals say it’s a parent’s “private choice” to push kids into dangerous “gender-affirming care”—but school choice for a better future? Suddenly, it’s everyone’s business.
Americans deserve better, and it’s time to fight back. Who really gets to decide what’s best for children—liberal bureaucrats, or parents who love their kids?
