Once again, the liberal left just can’t help themselves—not even during March Madness. This time, it’s Charles Barkley, a former NBA great who’s apparently decided he’s an expert on everything, railing against American immigration policies on live TV. Instead of focusing on basketball—the one thing the man is actually known for—Barkley hijacked a national sports event to whine about illegal immigrants getting sent home. This is exactly how out of touch Hollywood elites and their athlete pals really are.
What’s even more infuriating is how easily these celebrities get away with turning any stage, no matter how inappropriate, into a soapbox for their shameless virtue signaling. Regular Americans tune in to watch basketball, not to get lectured about the so-called “plight” of people who knowingly broke our laws. But to these pampered millionaires, enforcing borders and respecting American sovereignty is somehow cruel. Funny how they care more about people who come here illegally than the safety and security of the families who actually built this country.
Barkley and his liberal cheerleaders seem to forget that there’s a big difference between legal immigration—which built America—and just walking over the border like rules mean nothing. When Trump tried to restore some sanity and enforce the law, the left recoiled in horror, as if he had declared war on kindness itself. News flash: letting the whole world walk through our front door isn’t “compassion”—it’s just reckless, and our neighborhoods are paying the price.
If celebrities like Barkley are so passionate about open borders, maybe they should use their own multimillion-dollar homes for a real-life experiment. Let’s see how long their gated mansions stay safe and orderly when anyone can just stroll in. But no, they lock their doors tight, and hire armed security, while telling the rest of us that common sense policies are “mean.” The hypocrisy couldn’t be more obvious.
Sports used to be a place where Americans could unite, cheer, and escape the noise of politics for a few hours. Now, thanks to woke loudmouths like Barkley, even a simple basketball tournament becomes another battleground in the left’s relentless war on American values. Maybe it’s time for these social justice warriors to stick to layups and leave governing the country to the grown-ups. Or is that too much to ask?
