Democrats caught blocking GOP hopeful Bruce Blakeman from millions in campaign cash with bogus rules

Democrats in New York are up to their old tricks again. This time, they’re using obscure, made-up rules to stop Bruce Blakeman — a Republican candidate for governor — from getting the campaign funding every candidate deserves. The so-called Public Campaign Finance Board is about to block a whopping $7 million from Blakeman’s campaign. Their reason? They claim he didn’t add his running mate’s name to a form. But here’s the kicker: that form doesn’t even exist yet.

Only in New York could something this ridiculous happen. It’s the first-ever statewide election cycle where taxpayers are forced to foot the bill for candidates’ political races, thanks to Democrats’ “public funding” scheme. But the liberals on this board have made it clear that the rules only work one way — in their favor. They want to drown out Republicans while stacking the deck for their own hand-picked favorites. This isn’t just bias. It’s total corruption.

It’s always the same story with these big-government types. When their power is threatened, they twist the rules, invent new ones, or just move the goalposts entirely. They won’t let anyone stand up against their sweetheart deals or their globalist friends. Voters in New York didn’t sign up for this. They wanted a fair fight, not a sham election run by party bosses behind the scenes.

Let’s not pretend this is about “democracy” or “fairness.” Any time Democrats talk about protecting the system, what they really mean is protecting themselves. They scream about “voter suppression” when it suits them, but have no problem silencing real opponents like Blakeman with bureaucratic nonsense. What are they so afraid of? Maybe it’s the idea of an actual contest, instead of another rubber-stamped blue-state coronation.

Taxpayers should be furious. Their hard-earned money is now being used as a weapon to block Republicans from even getting on the playing field. This isn’t just dirty politics — it’s a brazen attack on the will of the people. If New York Democrats are so confident in their vision of America, why are they terrified of one Republican with honest funding? Maybe the real fraud is the game they’re running, not the candidates they’re trying to silence.
