What kind of country are we living in when a man can spray hospital workers in the face with HIV-infected blood and walk out of jail the very same day? Last March in Raleigh, a 25-year-old man receiving diabetic care ripped his IV out and deliberately attacked medical staff, flinging his HIV-positive blood right at their eyes. These weren’t just random bystanders — these were the hardworking nurses and hospital workers we all depend on, forced to risk their own lives because our laws now protect criminals over caregivers.
Was this treated as the sick, depraved assault it was? Of course not. North Carolina law supposedly says attacking a healthcare worker is a felony. But after months of so-called “treatment” and delays, this dangerous man gets a pathetic 91-day sentence. Did he actually spend time locked up? Not a single extra day. He walked, thanks to credit for time served. All part of yet another sweet plea deal cut in the backroom, instead of real justice being served in broad daylight.
Here’s the bottom line: If a normal American did anything close to this, they’d be an example, thrown in prison for years. But, in today’s America, if you check the right boxes with the woke system — “medical issues,” “psychiatric needs,” whatever excuse works — you get a get-out-of-jail-free card. The very “justice reformers” and Soros-backed DAs the left parades around as heroes bend over backwards for criminals and put law-abiding citizens and workers dead last.
Meanwhile, hospital staff can’t turn people like this away. They can’t defend themselves or even ask not to be targeted. They’re forced to care for violent offenders — and now they know the state will leave them hanging out to dry, every single time. This is what you get when Democrats run the courts — criminals getting chance after chance, while victims get zero protection.
The American people are sick of watching their country be turned into a free-for-all for thugs and predators. If this is “progress,” who’s safe anymore? Maybe it’s time we start asking why our leaders are more afraid of punishing criminals than protecting the innocent.
