Italy just snubbed US bombers and exposed Europe’s real loyalty

America’s so-called allies are showing their true colors again. News just broke that Italy refused permission for U.S. bombers, heading to the Middle East, to land at one of their own strategic air bases. That’s the same base often hailed as a “hub” for Western interests in the Mediterranean. Apparently, when push comes to shove, some European leaders would rather cozy up to globalist bureaucrats than stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the United States.

This is what happens when you let cowardly politicians, obsessed with pleasing Brussels, dictate foreign policy. Italy knows full well how much that air base has mattered for decades. American taxpayers have pumped billions into Europe’s defense, yet when our military assets need a lifeline, the door gets slammed in our face. It’s nothing short of a slap to American troops, and a spit in the eye to our long-standing partnership.

The radical left loves to lecture us about international cooperation. But when the chips are down, these so-called partners won’t even let American bombers refuel on their precious soil. Maybe the European elite would rather America be weak, our hands tied behind our backs, just to make themselves feel more relevant at posh summits. It’s sickening to watch these same leaders demand “security guarantees” from us, then turn around and block our military from getting the job done.

Of course, we can’t ignore the anti-American bias running rampant across the continent. Open borders, empty promises, and endless virtue-signaling—Europe’s ruling class plays nice for the cameras, but behind closed doors they’re busy undermining every real effort we make to keep the world safer. They huff and puff about “sovereignty” just long enough to sabotage the very alliance that keeps them free.

If this is the thanks America gets for carrying the heavy load, maybe it’s time to rethink who we call allies. Just how much more betrayal will Washington tolerate before drawing a red line? U.S. bombers bring real security, not bureaucratic hot air. So here’s a question: when the next crisis hits, who do you trust to answer the call—America, or the spineless politicians of Europe?
