The Supreme Court just delivered a giant wakeup call to the radical Left—and boy, they needed one. In an overwhelming 8-1 decision, the justices slammed Colorado’s attempt to muzzle therapists under the guise of banning “conversion therapy.” Turns out, there’s something called the First Amendment, and even Colorado’s woke lawmakers can’t wish it away.
The Left loves to tell Americans what to say, think, and believe. They brand any opinion they don’t like as “dangerous” or “hateful,” slap a ban on it, and call it “public health.” But finally, common sense prevailed at the highest court. The justices made it clear: The state can’t ban peaceful words just because bureaucrats—or activists behind them—don’t like the point of view being shared. If all it takes to outlaw a conversation is some bureaucrat’s feelings, freedom is finished in America.
Notice how even the liberals couldn’t bring themselves to support Colorado’s nonsense this time. Only Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was stubborn enough to stick with the Left’s fantasy of policing thought. The rest, including long-time liberals, finally drew the line. That’s how far Colorado overreached—when even the usual suspects couldn’t go along.
This case wasn’t about shocking stories or scare tactics. It was about the government weaponizing its power to control what counselors can say—pure, simple censorship. For years, leftist lawmakers pushed this law as “protection,” but anyone paying attention knew better. This was about silencing views they don’t want anyone to hear.
The Supreme Court didn’t fully erase Colorado’s law, but their message couldn’t be clearer. There’s no special “woke” exception to the Constitution. Free speech wins. Maybe next time, Colorado and their globalist friends will think twice before trying to enforce speech codes on Americans. But probably not—because when has the radical Left ever learned from its failures?
