Florida Attorney General ignites firestorm by demanding gun rights back for nonviolent felons

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier just rocked the political establishment by sticking up for real Second Amendment rights, and honestly, it’s about time someone showed some backbone in Tallahassee. Uthmeier wants to restore gun rights to nonviolent felons—and the left is having an absolute meltdown. Liberal prosecutors are tripping over themselves, screaming about “historical tradition” and warning of chaos, but let’s face reality: most so-called “felons” lost their rights in ridiculous, victimless cases. Now, they’re forbidden for life from protecting themselves or their families, all because big government says so.

The anti-gun crowd will do whatever it takes to keep disarming Americans. They love nothing more than using old, blanket laws to rob citizens of their freedom—even when there’s zero evidence these people are any kind of threat. Uthmeier pointed out the obvious: if someone isn’t dangerous, why do they lose their right to self-defense? Liberals twist themselves into pretzels trying to call every felon dangerous. If these folks are so dangerous, why did the state ever let them out of jail in the first place? It doesn’t make sense unless your true goal is to chip away at America’s gun culture, one technicality at a time.

The hypocrisy is staggering. Democrats claim to care about rehabilitation and “giving people a second chance.” Yet the very second it involves gun rights, they clutch their pearls and demand these folks be punished forever—even for crimes as simple as paperwork or victimless offenses. It’s never about public safety; it’s about government control. These same radical left-wing prosecutors love releasing repeat offenders back onto the street while turning law-abiding gun owners into their favorite villains.

The Constitution isn’t hard to understand. The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. There is no asterisk in the Second Amendment for nonviolent felons. If the government insists someone is too dangerous to have a gun, maybe that person shouldn’t be walking free in the first place. But the left’s answer is always the same—punish regular people, and leave criminals running loose for the sake of their own twisted agenda.

For too long, anti-gun zealots have used outdated laws as weapons against the Constitution. Good on Attorney General Uthmeier for putting his foot down and fighting for actual Americans. If the radicals think normal folks are going to sit quietly while they erase our liberty one rule at a time—they’ve got another thing coming. When will the left realize that the Second Amendment isn’t up for negotiation in any state, anytime, for anyone?
