Big Tech is finally feeling the heat. This week, Meta and Google got slapped with rulings after years of harming America’s kids. Good. Parents have been demanding answers for far too long while these Silicon Valley giants rake in profits off the backs of vulnerable teenagers. But the real outrage? While the media cheers over these wrist slaps for Zuckerberg and company, the worst threat of all—the Chinese-owned TikTok—gets a free pass.
Let’s get real. The Biden administration and liberal lawmakers are quick to grandstand against American companies, but when it comes to a foreign platform blatantly manipulating our youth, it’s crickets. Where is the outcry for TikTok, the app designed in Beijing that sucks in our children’s data, feeds them filth, and drives wedges into our culture? Instead, the left is too busy playing nice, terrified of being called xenophobic or interfering with their globalist “open internet” pipedream.
The hypocrisy is staggering. Meta and Google face tough questions for their damage to mental health and broken promises about keeping kids safe. But TikTok, the most toxic player on the block, slips through the cracks. Are we really supposed to believe these politicians care about our nation’s children? Or are they just interested in holding American companies’ feet to the fire while they placate their friends in China?
Nobody should be fooled. TikTok’s “rotten deal” is poisoning the next generation, rotting moral values, and trampling on everything that makes America strong. The left will rant about “protecting kids,” but can’t muster the courage to stand against a communist regime’s favorite tool of cultural sabotage.
Wake up, America. TikTok’s free ride is a slap in the face to every parent who’s seen their child spiral thanks to these digital predators. If our leaders had any backbone, they’d stop posturing against U.S. companies and bring the hammer down on TikTok once and for all. Or is standing up to China just too much to ask from the spineless American left?
