What if Germany Had Taken Over France Would Europe Be Better Off

It’s hard not to laugh when liberals pretend Europeans have it all figured out. Every time France makes the news, it’s usually for two things: wild protests in the streets, or politicians running the country into the ground. But here’s a thought: maybe this disaster could’ve been avoided if the Allies had just handed France off to Germany after World War II. At this point, could it really have turned out much worse?

Let’s face it—modern France is a mess. French leaders never stop lecturing America, all while their own nation falls apart. The ruling elites in Paris are more obsessed with pleasing Brussels and catering to globalist fantasies than fixing their own broken system. Meanwhile, hard-working French citizens keep getting ignored, and their problems keep piling up. Instead of fixing sky-high unemployment and crime, politicians focus on virtue signaling and climate nonsense.

This is the magic effect of socialism and leftist policies. If there’s a way to make life harder for decent people, France’s leaders will find it. They tax everything that moves, push green schemes that ruin the economy, then act shocked when farmers and truckers block highways in protest. The only thing more reliable than French bureaucracy is endless paperwork. When was the last time anyone looked at France and said, “Wow, those are people who know how to get things done”?

Let’s not forget the breathtaking hypocrisy. French officials love wagging their fingers at America for everything—guns, faith, even free speech—while their own country sinks deeper into chaos. Paris politicians pose as intellectuals at global conferences and dream up new ways to tax and regulate their own people. Meanwhile, the real world—outside their champagne rooms—deals with the fallout of their disastrous decisions.

Maybe the real joke is on us. We spent blood and treasure bringing freedom back to France, and this is what we get in return? A lecture on values from a country that can barely keep its own house in order? If these are the fruits of progressive, globalist leadership, maybe German efficiency would’ve been an upgrade. Why should Americans listen to European elites who can’t even run their own show?
