Congressional Republicans just struck a big deal on DHS funding, and there’s something all Americans need to pay attention to. Once again, the usual Washington games are on full display. Liberals complain, stall, and try to chip away at the agencies that keep us safe—Border Patrol and ICE. Their dream is to throw open the borders, punish anyone who gets in the way, and erase even the basic idea of American sovereignty.
But this time, common sense conservatives saw through the nonsense. While the Democrats failed to provide direct funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement or Customs and Border Protection in the regular spending bill—surprise, surprise—the programs aren’t left twisting in the wind. Instead, Republicans pulled off what the swamp folks call One Big Beautiful Bill. What does that actually mean? It means ICE and CBP are taken care of, funded, and protected with a multi-year safety net.
Make no mistake, the Left would love to see ICE and Border Patrol gutted. They have spent years trying to smear our law enforcement officers, calling them villains for enforcing the law. While open-border globalists cheer as fentanyl pours into our neighborhoods, hardworking Americans are left to pick up the pieces. For liberals, the only borders they want to defend are their fancy houses in gated communities.
It’s no accident that Democrats tried to sneak through a spending package that failed to directly fund the agencies on the front line of our border crisis. That’s called agenda-driven politics—putting virtue signaling ahead of national security. The radical Left would rather protect illegal aliens than American families. Meanwhile, Republicans are the only ones actually working to keep citizens safe and secure.
Americans are sick of weakness and hypocrisy from the left. With Republican leadership, ICE and CBP are getting the resources they need—whether liberal elites like it or not. Maybe the real question is: how many more times will the Democrats tell us “walls don’t work,” while hiding behind security guards and gates of their private mansions?
