Liberals go silent as offshore wind endangers whales but attack oil that powers America

It would be almost funny if it weren’t so insane. The environmental left loves to cry about “saving the whales” every time American oil and gas producers get a break, but when it’s their pet project—offshore wind—they act like endangered species don’t even exist. Once again, the left’s hypocrisy is on full display.

This week, the Trump administration decided to end some senseless regulations in the Gulf of Mexico, exempting hard-working American energy producers from strangling rules in the Endangered Species Act. Instantly, eco-activists lost their minds, screaming about how oil rigs might threaten whales. Where was all this outrage when Joe Biden pushed industrial wind factories out into the very same waters? Those giant spinning blades are a danger to marine life too, but suddenly the whale huggers vanished. Are whales only “worth saving” when it hurts America’s energy independence?

Let’s not kid ourselves about what this is really about. The environmental lobby isn’t actually fighting for whales. They’re fighting for their green ideology, no matter how many American jobs or families get thrown under the bus. When it comes to offshore wind, the left cheers, even though those projects are infamous for their impact on ocean life. But if oil and gas is involved—something that supports our economy and helps regular Americans—they stamp their feet, cry wolf, and demand more government control.

This is just more proof that Biden, his administration, and the radical left don’t really care about the environment. They only care about controlling our way of life and pushing their globalist climate fantasies. Offshore wind is their golden child, even if it fries birds and disrupts whales. If oil and gas can help America, you can bet environmentalists will fight it—even if their arguments fall apart under the slightest bit of scrutiny.

Whales might be endangered, but common sense is even more rare in liberal circles. The American people deserve energy policies that put us first, not pet projects for radical activists. Maybe it’s time someone asked the real question: do liberals care about whales, or do they just hate American energy?
