Once again, the Vatican has chosen Easter—one of the holiest days for Christians around the world—to scold leaders about war instead of pointing toward the real problem. On Sunday, Pope Leo XIV, standing before crowds with all the pageantry only Rome can offer, didn’t call for morality, responsibility, or strength in the face of evil. No, the Pope called on world leaders to lay down their arms and embrace peace. It sounds nice. It gets applause from the usual crowd. But it’s the same tired script global elites love—demanding peace while ignoring reality.
Liberals love to clutch their pearls at any mention of a strong military or the right to defend yourself. They want you to believe that if everyone just stopped fighting, the world would magically become a safe place. But here’s the problem: the bad guys—terrorists, dictators, and bullies—don’t listen to sermons about peace. They only listen to strength. When the Pope talks about disarming, what he’s really doing is handing more power to those who hate freedom and despise the West.
Interesting, isn’t it? The people calling for peace are the same ones who refuse to protect their own citizens from crime and chaos. Instead of standing up to real threats like communist China, radical Islamists, or violent cartels, they want ordinary people to feel guilty for wanting security. It’s globalist nonsense—tell hardworking Americans to lower their defenses, while foreign thugs arm themselves to the teeth. Who benefits from this? Not the families living on our southern border. Not Christians suffering around the world. Only the corrupt international big shots playing games in their marble palaces.
Of course, the Pope’s call gets praise from left-wing politicians and media across the globe. They love any message that makes America look like the villain, or puts conservatives on defense for believing in a strong national defense. They use phrases like “global peace” to hide their real aim: stripping away the last lines of protection for free nations. Jesus spoke of peace, yes—but He flipped tables when evil people hid behind the temple walls. Sometimes peace means standing your ground.
Maybe instead of lecturing the world about giving up its arms, Pope Leo should address the real causes of division—failed leadership, moral weakness, and a refusal to confront evil. Peace is not surrender. If we want a safer planet, it’s time to stop blaming America for every problem and start holding the enemies of freedom accountable. Why should we listen to more elite sermons about “laying down arms,” while real Americans pay the price for liberal fantasies?
