Wisconsin’s leaders just admitted what parents have feared for years: public schools aren’t safe havens—they’re liabilities. With Governor Tony Evers signing bills to “increase transparency” in teacher misconduct investigations, the political class is scrambling to slap a Band-Aid on the festering wound of government-run education.
Let’s be crystal clear. For years, liberals and their union buddies have insisted parents should blindly trust schools and teachers. Meanwhile, abuse and neglect have been swept under the rug. If everything was so great, why would we need a law to force schools to come clean about bad apples? The fact that it took this long to list teachers under investigation—and to call out license revocations—shows just how deep the corruption runs.
Transparency is a nice word, but it’s no substitute for real accountability. Parents deserve to know the truth the moment their kids are at risk—not months or years after the fact. The liberal establishment has protected its own, silencing concerned parents, attacking watchdogs, and painting critics as dangerous extremists. Now, with the midterm spotlight glaring and public trust crumbling, Evers wants to pretend he’s cleaning house. Give me a break.
Let’s not forget that these are the same folks who threw a fit at the idea of school choice and parental rights. They’re eager to ban cameras from classrooms, but all of a sudden, now they want transparency? That’s only because their grip on the narrative is slipping. When forced to choose between students and their political donors, Democrats always side with the unions, not the families.
If Evers and his friends really cared, they’d empower parents—not bureaucrats. They’d back school vouchers, break up the union monopolies, and fire anyone who covers up abuse, period. But as usual, they’ll just tinker around the edges. How many scandals will it take before we finally put kids and families first—and kick the woke elites out of our schools for good?
