Yet somehow, sheriffs and liberal leaders are ignoring it and the Department of Justice just lets them walk free.
This isn’t accidental. It’s all about politics. Liberals champion these sanctuary cities and cozy up to the radical left, hoping to win brownie points with globalists and open-borders activists. While ordinary Americans worry about criminals slipping through the cracks, left-wing politicians pat themselves on the back for “resisting” federal law. They act like enforcing immigration laws is an option, not a duty.
It’s laughable that the DOJ claims it wants to “use the law more aggressively.” Talk is cheap. As of 2026, not a single sheriff or official has faced prosecution for ignoring ICE detainers. Where’s the accountability? Regular citizens would face criminal charges if they broke federal law, but arrogant officials hide behind their offices and liberal “values.” The double standard is sickening.
The left always likes to pretend they care about public safety. Meanwhile, many sanctuary jurisdictions refuse to cooperate with ICE, turning loose criminals that should be deported. This isn’t just incompetence; it’s a betrayal of the American people. These sheriffs and city officials are making a mockery of our country’s laws because they know the Biden DOJ will never lift a finger against them.
How much longer will the Justice Department let the law be abused by so-called leaders who care more about illegal aliens than their own citizens? Time for the DOJ to stop playing politics and start acting like they care about America. Or is protecting Americans now too “controversial” for the liberal elite?
