It’s always entertaining when the left tries to play politics and ends up tripping over their own feet. Take David Hogg’s flashy PAC, for example. The group was supposed to be the new face of progressive money and power, promising handouts to wannabe politicians eager to join the woke elite in Washington. But instead of launching a blue wave, all they’ve managed to do is leave their own candidates angry and broke.
This PAC, which calls itself “Leaders We Deserve,” rolled out the red carpet for candidates, bragged about endorsements, and teased big dollars—only to pull the rug out at the last minute. They promised hundreds of thousands, even a million dollars, to campaigns like Irene Shin in Virginia and Robert Peters in Illinois. These Democrats got their hopes up, made plans, and then discovered all that support was just a mirage. Talk about “progress,” right? Turns out, if you don’t look like a sure thing, the leftist machine tosses you aside faster than yesterday’s talking point.
It gets even messier. Behind closed doors, sources have admitted that Hogg’s group pushed candidates to water down their radical views to get the cash. They suggested cozying up to globalist organizations and dropping endorsements from far-left groups. Isn’t that rich? The same folks who rant about “speaking truth to power” are bending over backwards, begging for their big donors’ approval. For all their talk about standing up for “the people,” it’s obvious the Democrat leadership just wants to control every move their candidates make.
When pressed, the PAC’s mouthpieces claim they pulled out because their chosen candidates had no shot at winning. But shouldn’t this basic reality check happen before you make million-dollar promises? Only on the left do you get this level of incompetence—failing at campaign strategy 101 while blaming everyone else and preaching about equity.
This fiasco is just another example of why Democrats are in disarray. Their own allies can’t trust each other, their candidates are forced to dance for donor approval, and voters are left scratching their heads. Meanwhile, conservatives can sit back, pour themselves a bourbon, and enjoy the free show. Maybe next time, David Hogg and his crew should practice what they preach—or just hire someone who knows the first thing about keeping promises. Do the Democrats deserve these “leaders,” or do they just keep getting what they ask for?
