Anyone with common sense saw this trainwreck coming from a mile away—except the woke crowd in Sacramento.
Just look around. Burger joints and pizza places, once packed with teens working their first jobs, are now handing pink slips to staff left and right. But here’s the kicker: it’s not because business is bad. It’s because robots are replacing workers. Thanks to this out-of-touch wage mandate, machines are flipping burgers while hardworking Americans get the boot. And the left calls this “progress.”
Liberals whine day in and day out about evil corporations and “fairness.” But their big government experiments always side with globalist interests over American workers. These policies don’t lift people up—they shove them aside. Newsom’s wage hike hasn’t created more opportunity; it’s taken paychecks out of the wallets of those who need them most. Try telling a single mom or a college kid struggling to pay rent that a robot taking their place is good for them.
Of course, the leftists in charge love to lecture the rest of us about “equity.” Meanwhile, cash-strapped small business owners are being bled dry by out-of-touch elites who have never worked a day in a greasy kitchen. For them, it’s all about virtue signaling and scoring points with their coastal donor buddies. They don’t care about the families sitting around their kitchen tables, wondering how to afford groceries this month.
It’d be funny if it wasn’t so tragic—California keeps proving that liberal ideas sound nice in Ivy League classrooms but don’t work in the real world. Newsom’s minimum wage disaster is just one more example of Democrats putting their woke agenda above common sense and hard work. How many jobs have to vanish before these socialists admit the truth: you can’t legislate prosperity by punishing the very people who create jobs in the first place?
