Eric Swalwell is at it again, pointing fingers and dodging responsibility. This time, the California Democrat is under fire for alleged inappropriate behavior with his female staffers. But instead of accepting blame or even addressing the concerns coming from his own side of the aisle, Swalwell is doing what liberals do best—blaming Trump supporters. Never mind that most of these rumors are coming straight from left-wing social media circles. For Swalwell, the real villain is always “MAGA.”
It’s almost laughable how quickly Democrats cry “conspiracy” when the heat is on. When their own bad behavior is exposed—even by their fellow leftists—they reach for the tired playbook and start ranting about “right-wing plots.” This is what happens when you’re addicted to victimhood: personal responsibility goes out the window. Swalwell has turned blaming conservatives into his entire political brand. Maybe that’s easier than answering real questions about his own conduct.
But what really makes this spectacle outrageous is the hypocrisy. Remember, this is the same Eric Swalwell who spent years peddling hoaxes, smearing law-abiding Americans, and going along with every anti-Trump witch hunt the Democrats cooked up. He clearly has no problem with pointing fingers at others, but when it’s his own reputation in trouble, suddenly it’s time for everyone to play nice and believe his side of the story. Talk about a double standard.
It’s especially rich coming from a guy who was caught cozying up to a Chinese spy not so long ago. Swalwell and his globalist pals love preaching about integrity, yet they can’t even keep their own house in order. The left likes to pretend they’re the champions of women, but time and time again, their “heroes” get caught in one scandal after another—and the rest of the party just looks the other way, as long as they can keep blaming conservatives.
Only in the twisted world of Democrat politics can someone get attacked by their own side and still shamelessly point at MAGA supporters. Maybe Swalwell’s next excuse will be blaming Russia or climate change. Or maybe, just maybe, the left will wake up and realize personal responsibility isn’t a “right-wing conspiracy”—it’s called being an adult. But don’t hold your breath.
